New Delhi: Vicky Kaushal's historical epic Chhaava continues its strong run at the box office. The film, which had an impressive opening weekend, has now amassed Rs 18.50 crore on its second Monday, according to Sacnilk.
With this, Chhaava's total box office earnings have reached Rs 345.25 crore by the end of day 11. The film recorded an overall 23.64% Hindi occupancy on February 24, further cementing its success.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava sees Vicky Kaushal portraying the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the valiant son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Rashmika Mandanna plays Maharani Yesubai, while Akshaye Khanna takes on the role of Aurangzeb. The film also features Ashutosh Rana, Diana Penty, and Divya Dutta in significant roles.
The film has received widespread appreciation from the industry. Actress Alia Bhatt recently praised Vicky Kaushal’s performance, sharing a still from the film on her Instagram Stories. She wrote, “Vicky Kaushal! What are you???? Cannot get over your performance in Chhaava.”
Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt previously collaborated in the 2018 espionage thriller Raazi and are set to reunite in Love & War, alongside Ranbir Kapoor.
Katrina Kaif also lauded the film, calling it a “monumental cinematic experience.” She shared her admiration for the movie, saying, “Laxman Utekar tells this incredible story in the most brilliant way. The last 40 minutes will leave you speechless. I've spent all morning wanting to re-watch it.”
She further praised Vicky Kaushal’s transformation into his character, stating, “Every shot, every moment, the intensity you bring is incredible. You are a chameleon in the way you adapt to your roles. I’m so proud of you.”
